About Nazma M. Rosado
Executive Coach, Principal Consultant at Avion Consulting, President of Transformative Consulting, Adjunct Professor, Board Member & Global Facilitator.
Nazma is a dynamic leader with nearly three decades of experience in healthcare, pharma, and biotech. She partners with global organizations to implement change, foster leadership, and enhance performance. Her background includes executive coaching, leadership development, and organizational strategy across enterprise and academic sectors.
Most executive coaches have never sat on the other side of the table. Before I gave advice for a living, I was the one deciding who got hired to give it. As Global Head of Organizational Development at EMD Serono, Global Head of Training Design & Development at Astellas Pharma, and Global Head of Process and Training at Genentech, I ran the vendor evaluations, held the budget, and decided which consultants earned a second meeting and which ones didn’t. That seat changes how you think about this work. I know what a leadership team actually needs from an outside advisor, because I used to be the person setting that bar.
That experience is why I eventually built my own firm, Transformative Consulting, Inc., rather than staying inside one organization’s four walls. It’s also why I now lead engagements as Principal Consultant at Avion Consulting. The work scales further with a firm behind it. The point of view hasn’t changed. Strategy that never reaches the people responsible for executing it isn’t strategy; it’s a slide deck.
Nearly three decades in healthcare, pharma, and biotech taught me where transformation efforts actually break. I co-chaired the TransCelerate Biopharma Change Management Council, aligning fifteen competing pharmaceutical organizations around shared standards, a consortium effort that only works if you can get rivals to agree on something. I bring integration experience from some of the largest mergers in the industry, including Roche-Genentech and Pfizer-Pharmacia, into how I advise leadership teams navigating culture integration today. Deals close. Cultures take longer.
The credentials behind the work: PMP certification since 2012. Prosci ADKAR certification since 2010. A Master’s in Organizational Leadership, also since 2010.
And because change management now includes AI adoption, a PMI Generative AI Certificate, which shapes how I help leadership teams manage AI rollouts as a people problem first, not a technology one.
AI is part of how I work now, and part of how I coach leaders to think about their own organizations. What it isn’t is a replacement for judgment. I use it to move faster on the parts of the work that don’t require me: research, first drafts, structure. The parts that do require me, the read on a room, the call on when to push and when to wait, the coaching itself, stay mine. That’s the same standard I bring to clients navigating their own AI mandates: speed the work up, don’t dilute the people doing it.
I teach this material as an adjunct professor, wrote about it in Lead The Way and Don’t Be a D!ck, and sit on several boards because the best thinking on leadership rarely happens in only one room. If you’re evaluating whether an outside advisor is worth the seat at your table, that’s a conversation I’m glad to have.
